The Role of 3d Printing Technology in Implementing Creatures and Prosthetic Makeup in Films

Abstract

       Scientific discoveries and technological advances have provided a great opportunity for new methods of applications of configuration processes to emergence; Technologies like: stop-motion and motion capture, has made a qualitative shift in the film & television industry, The age of innovation and growing demands for special effects has led to a range of new technologies reshaping the film industry and improving its qualitative aspects.
Creature design and prosthetic makeup techniques Such as: the usage of 3d elements, often made from plastics, to reconfigure actors' faces or bodies in order to transform them into different characters or creatures are one of the most attractive and exciting elements in films, particularly in the twenty-first century; Due to the emergence of advanced techniques that have helped to realistically reflect and extract those creatures in dazzling ways through different methods of  implementation and construction as well as the mechanism of their movement.
That’s why the need for 3D printing technology in its various techniques and materials, especially for creature and prosthetic makeup specialists and designers called; As it facilitated the conversion of their digital or physical designs into relatively cheap 3D models in a short amount of time, as well as having an exceptional level of detail and finishing end, in which it becomes a fertile field of study and technical development to reach the required form dramatically and aesthetically.
